Engine mount inserts

Has anyone fitted the powerflex mount inserts? I see lots of the US guys are fitting there own version.
I am just wondering what peoples findings are? I dont really want too much vibration, I have been in a couple of the Honda cars and one or two were pretty bad (I honestly think it would make me sick after a while).
Before Dad tells me I should spend it on trackdays there is a reason I am looking at them, basically the tintercooler is still catching the bootlid at times (guessing full load), I dont think its bad but it would be better not hitting I guess…

Give John atJSRacing a call. He has fitted inserts to a few S2’s he will be able to tell you how harsh they are.

I have the same\similar on mine I think it is a realy good upgrade and don’t really notice the extra vibration except when cold then the sunvisors wobble around along with the door mirrors :wink:
PS got mine off ebay for �45 delivered :wink:

They seem easy to do, remove mount add insert with silicone grease refit, about 6 bolts for each mount some do look a bit fiddly though… I had mine done when they fitted the new clutch

More specifically do you need a hydraulic press to push the new ones in? Fiddlyness I can deal with…

Did this mod just before having S/charger fitted about 3 years ago.Modified the factory mounts using liquid urethane[2 part].certainly improved gear change.Some vibration at tickover when cold otherwise not really much intrusion.Took about 2 hours to strip[had to move intercooler pipes] and fit Good cheap mod.

Although the engine sure does seem to move a lot in that video and I don’t trust his torque settings, and the powerflex bushes are half the price.
Reasonably straightforward to fit, my front mount had some rather flakey paint so I wire brushed / painted it the same time. Also the lotus brace doesn’t have the washers of the RTD so you only need to remove the 5 bolts for the rear one. I wont get a chance to try them out on track till next week but it does seem to have tightened up the gearchange. If it stops the exhaust breaking or random wiring faults caused by the engine moving about too much it’s certainly worth the money. I’ll report back on harshness after an extended road test next month although they’re so cheap/easy you could always take them out again if you don’t like them?
