Hi all,
I have received some powerflex inserts for my exige. There are 4 inserts in the two packs in total.
Couple of questions :
Can this be done without supporting the 2zz,ie one mount at a time?
And
Is there 4 engine mounts and one insert goes into each mount or 2 mounts and 2 inserts in each?
Cheers al

been wondering about these
so where they difficult to fit and
do they make difference and what effect do they have on idle vibration?
thanks
They are not difficult to fit at all however, it it far easier if you are stood under the car as opposed to fighting on your drive, on axel stands.
Does it vibrate at idle? YES. No escaping that. You may not like the sensation. It may annoy but I’m sure your girlfriend may like it
Has it made a difference to the drive? YES x 3. For me it has revolutionised the feel. It feels more binary. To me it feels like it should feel.
One of the best 40 quids I have spent on the car. If you can accept the vibes, do it. I read that the elise shop ones are a little more forgiving on tick over.
I wanted teeth shaking connectivity. I got it with powerflex

Thanks,
My Honda converted car had stiff mounts, - great feel when driving yes but trade off was could not see anything in rear view mirror on idle!
Bought Exige for more civilised driving experience but having seen how engine moves under power reckon it needs some stiffer mounts
Maybe Elise shops one could be happy half way house…
There is one thing. In an exige we don’t have those rear view problems as we don’t have that
I have elise shop ones and they seem good, only slight vibration nothing too serious.

The yellow Powerflex ones are absolutely fantastic with only slight vibration at idle that you very very soon get use to.
I had them fitted to my car but changed them for the harder black versions, again only a slight increase in idle vibrations (more than the yellows)
powerflex, engine mounts, inserts,power flex,
I’m on the yellow powerflex and I got free keyrings

Do you sell the black ones as well, might pop some on mine next time it’s due a service.

Once you’ve had black, you’ll never go back I hear Dave is that correct…
Yes
I just need to add them to the site…
In stock already
Installed a set of Powerflex Blacks last Saturday.
Idle vibrations are quite noticeable, but what a difference at the track the day after +++.
Crisper throttle response, better handling, and the best of all - gear change is far better (especially 3rd).
Fitted some yellows today guys, any idea why I’m getting a very very slight crunch in 5th ???
Changed gear oil as well for mt90 redline

I did the same mods on my S2 , but had the crunch between 2nd and 3rd and ok once the oil got hot.
Yer I did wonder if it was something to do with the oil change ?, but I did give it a good run before I give is some good revs !!@
2nd to 3rd slight crunch when cold seems pretty normal, but always ok when warm. Not heard of anyone having a problem with 5th,

Planning on trying mount inserts in mine, was looking at the elise-shop ones which I understand may be softer than the powerflex yellow, but for whatever reason they are twice the price… Anyone had experience of both types?
