I’m fabricating a new intake tube and need to fix it on to the tubing above where the existing TRD sits.
I’m looking for one of those twin brackets/ties, that holds 2 tubes next to each other.
You know the ones, either a clip or zip tie, connected to another clip or zip tie by a short (usually) plastic arm.
The induction tube is 3" and the frame about 1". Any thoughts on suppliers?
Cant you just use zip ties, and just link them together? Or use a 3rd zip tie to connect the two that are holding the pipes??
Yes , thanks Sean, I had thought of that, but didn’t want to do things Heath Robinson. Besides 400mm tube with a K+N on the end will shake around quite a bit and I suspect even those big buggers will fray after a time
This might be helpful, you can get it from pretty much any electrical wholesaler b&q might even sell it. The coated stuff is a better finish than galv, Might still be not be the finsh you’re after though.
Craig.
I made a bracket out of carbon plate when I had the VIS fitted , just carbon plate rounded at the bottom and the top cut at the Angle of the stay with a hole cut out for the induction pipe to go through lined with rubber grommet strip and two rubber lined P-clips at the back that clamp on the tube stay ,looked factory and helps shield the filter from engine bay heat also
