Another gap in lotus ownership . The Exige has just been picked up by its new owner. Hopefully Dave will join the forum although I have warned him that you are a dodgy bunch of characters
He is going straight in at the deep end and has entered Saturdays round of time attack at Oulton. If it stays dry then I’m sure he will have a successful day.
It made sense to sell rather than store the car while I’m working away, although I’m sure Gareth is disappointed that he doesn’t get to babysit it now.
I’m loving the B roads here in Slovakia, it’s like Scotland. Except for the speed traps in nearly every village!
I might be able to make some space in the garage for a seasonal visit of an S1 Elise next summer. I sound like Boothy! I will need to approach the subject stealthily with the Mrs (just like Boothy!)
At least selling the Lotus might get me fit again. The house is next to a ski slope so it’s mountain bike season now and I just bought a set of Alpine touring skis today. I looked a proper twonk walking down the high street with them on a 30c sunny day.
That doesn’t even show all of it either Could fit about 12 Lotuses in there, probably 13 if you held one up on the hoist The house is only a 2 bedroom bungalow on one end of the garage but for a first house it’s not too bad My next mission is to paint the garage floor later in winter.
Haha yeah, I’m a bachelor… mind you, my girlfriend loves my house, as she knows the alternative is to have a smaller garage and have me spending all my time over at mates’ places in their garages and never see me
That garage to house ratio is superb!! I’d love to find a small house with a massive garage/driveway. Cheap house, cheap running costs = more money to spend on the car/s
Reminds me a a house I missed out on by a matter of weeks, little 2 bed cottage in a nice village in Bedfordshire. Out the back was 1/2 acre of garden including a huge parking area and a very good condition barn, turned into a garage that could comfortably house 4 cars, 6 if you squeezed them all in. Ultimate bachelors pad! 2yrs later I’m still kick myself for missing out on that
What’s more, it’s only 20 minutes out of the Auckland City CBD… in England terms, that’d be like having something similar in a near-central London suburb. I nearly babbed myself when I found it!
Garage is a little more full now… have our budget race car in there now too along with half a Datsun Cedric in parts that my mate’s waiting to transport down-country. It’s funny though how I’ve become quite the social hub since getting this place…most evenings seem to involve beers in the garage with mates… even though it’s mid winter… thankfully it’s insulated and warm!
