I agree with you that the best mods for track are suspension, brakes and driver training. Been there, done it and worn out the t-shirt.
The majority of people up the power because they don’t want to be outraced by some 250bhp chav hatchback at some traffic lights. The 900Kg Exige/Elise just isn’t quick in the real world as you can only exploit its handling on track. 250bhp and 180lb/ft in the Exige & Elise makes it pretty quick, not as quick as a SC Honda or Audi but quick enough to enjoy driving it on the road. Yes, pulling away from traffic lights quickly is childish but it put a grin on my face everytime when some t$%t in a porsche or chav car tried it on.
I’m sure that’s true Pesky , I’m sure a trained driver could run rings round me on a track , even in an NA 180hp car .
I’m not a track monkey though or a traffic light specialist , I let chavs and porkers go with a smile , I get my plesure driving on empty B roads that im blessed with around here in the summer months .
Just owning a Lotus that was built for me is enough , with 270hp now it’s way over twice the HP of my first Elise and it is quick , 300 is a nice number though
Wa wa woo waaa, 1800!!! I guess they do not plan on selling many sadly.
I’ll take a trip down to EA, a night in a five star hotel and a nosh off Kat Deeley with change for a big mac meal on the way home ta.
I think it’s funny how all these guys keep dickin around tryin to develope something when Mitch Pederson came over to my house after spending 3hrs. making up the patch harness for the slightly modified AEM Honda ecu and we had the car runin around the street an hour later…
One day on the dyno and 3 hrs. of street fine tuning and I have a perfectly runin 663bhp Lotus…
ECUs don’t need development if they work with other cars, they ether work or they don’t…
Maybe these other wannabe ECU supliers need to hire a ECU developer that is also a world class tuner and get their product to market…

You should sell the AEM with an Exige map to us in the UK for 700 , I’m sure you would sell loads frankster !
Will ask Liam today if he can get some machined up , i know he had some realy nice light weight alternator ones made for VXs , its silly having to get stuff from the US all the time when im sure it can be made here at half the price , he may need one to copy though .
