Elvington with 6th Gear

Apologies if anyone has seen this on Nyloc but I thought I’d post there first as I was in their area

Great day out at Elvington. Four laps is not enough behind the wheel of a 458. It was an extraordinary experience. I was surprised how quickly I adapted to the paddle shift. The red change light kept flickering on up through the seven gears but In truth I don’t suppose I was going to break any records. I was braking way too early but the Ferrari was light, nimble and the power was seamless. Strange, though, that although it was in sport mode the engine did not seem to be wailing quite so much as I’d expected. Even listening to it from trackside it seemed a bit muted(noise restrictions?).
I got my ride in just before it started raining so I was lucky.
What surprised me was the scale of the event. I lost count of the number of Gallardos on offer.
It was extremely well-attended as I had expected a much more low-key affair. Very professional but a little impersonal through the registration process.
Sadly, I did not get to ride with RussT who was instructing but we had a chat and he was on top form. He was having to spend the day in a 360, poor soul. Must have nerves of steel to be driven round by some folk.

My Dad this a couple of weekends ago at Blyton, we got it for him for his birthday.

The event was very well run, probably 8 gallado’s, 2 r8’s, v8 vantage, db9, 458, 911, murchi as well as hot laps in a Radical available.

He did a 3 supercar drive, and got upgraded from the v8 vantage to the db9 and from the 360 moderna to the 458.

He thoroughly enjoyed it, more than he thought he would.

Not thinking of swapping the Exige are we Steve  Glad you had a good day, fancy doing Blyton on 23 Sept ? unfortunately we wont make Buckles on Tuesday, off to Wales for a few nights break.

Been thinking about Blyton as I feel I should support Norlog. I’ll decide asap. Have you booked? Enjoy Wales.
