Elise to Exige???

Hi, i m new here, i m actually looking for a exige S1 and i had come across few of the motorsport elise which is a elise coverted to exige. I just wonder are there any different chassis ? i.e. except the front and rear clam change and also engine, does both share the same chassis etc??

thanks in advance

different shocks but the chassis is still the same

so assume the elise had changed the front and rear clam, a honda eneing engine with nitrons, so does it mean it will be equivalent to a exige by all means??

Probably not the best place to ask that particular question!

You’ll need bigger wheels… possibly different seats (as most prefer the motorsport seats, but these were an option) harness bar and harnesses etc etc

It’ll look like an Exige… it’ll sound like a Honda Exige and it’ll go like a Honda Exige.

But the registration docs will say Lotus Elise. It’ll be equivalent in every respect but it won’t be an Exige. I guess its not quite the same as putting a Porsche badge on a Beetle, but you catch my drift!

It’ll look the part if its been put together with correct panels/wheels etc. but wont be an actual Exige, other under the skin and interior differences etc will also exist.

And obviously the Exige didnt leave the factory with a Honda engine, thats a more recent modification being adopted by many owners.

If you have an Elise now and want an Exige “looker” I m sure people here can advise you where to find the panels etc to modify it, and give you an idea on costs. At a guess I imagine as a min the panels 3k, paint 3-4k and wheels 2k

Rgds.

Chris does all of the panels and I think he charges about 1500 for a set. Paint can be expensive for a pukka job, wheels vary, but currnetly S1 Exige wheels are running at about 1k

i can do the panels for 1500 untrimmed, paint can be anywhere from 1200 to 3500 depending who you use, you will need exige size wheels, different suspension, seats are different but carbon one are the way to go anyway, upgrade your brakes and engine jobs done. Who you going to show the log book to anyway lol

the brakes are the same, so no need to do them

the brakes are the same, so no need to do them [/quote]

yeah but standard disc’s are rubbish
