Well, after posting this news over at Pistonheads, I thought some of you may be interested in this as well:
First reviews are out overhere that have tested the new Elise-S including a supercharger fitted by Bemani in Switzerland. Judging by the identical price for the supercharger + chargecooler like the 111R/Exige S2 powered cars, it seems likely that the small Elise-S is fed by the same Eaton MP90 blower.
The figures speak for themselves:
Max Power:
Standard Elise-S: 136hp at 6200rpm
Bemani Elise-S: 230bhp at 7000rpm
Max Torque:
Standard Elise-S: 172Nm / 126lb-ft at 4200rpm
Bemani Elise-S: 273Nm / 201lb-ft at 4600rpm
Weight: 885 kg
Acceleration times tested by Auto-Illustrierte 04/07 Bemani Elise-S:
0-62mph in 4.7s (standard Elise-S 6.1s)
0-100mph in 10.8s
Quarter mile in 11.7s
1 km in 23.7s
Given the lower price of an Elise-S, this seems like a great deal and what an amazing performance! Not that far off a Bemani’d Exige/111R!
Cheers Phil
Impressive times!!!
It was a great car when i drove one round Hethel test track
Thats sounds an interesting upgrade for the S. I suppose it would all come down to price and how close, in cost, the upgrade wuold be against an Exige S.

If my math is correct, the Bemani Elise-S is roughly the cost of an NA Exige with some options…
It’s cheaper, lighter, and quicker than an Exige-S. Though it would still be an Exige for me.

Depends what your priorities are. The Elise S Bemani would be all you need for a road car better than an Exige from a visibility point of view to start with.
The Exige is the better out-of-the-box track toy, as it has the appropriate equipment (sticky rubber, etc.) though any Elise can be upgraded of course and even a stock Elise S1 is fun on track.
