Elise GT

I’ve found some piccies of a wee beastie which appeared at the recent supercar show in Paris. I’ve mailed them to David, who will hopefully post them on the board - thanks in advance.[This message has been edited by Pesky (edited 29 September 2001).]

PeskyDon’t keep us in suspense - is this the only “road” car version ofthe GT1 produced you’re talking about? [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]Navy blue in colour if memory serves me correctly, which it it probably doesn’t. I’ll hedge me bets then - grey/black maybe?Al

Ally, I’ll mail the piccies to you direct, but the only details I have are that it was being driven on the road, & it’s yellow & black!Over to you David, to load the photos on the board [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]

come on david…get those pics up…some of us don’t have a life and can’t understand why the pics weren’t up within minutes!!!

I’ve had them all day, I was just building up some theatrical tension…(Besides, aren’t I allowed a day off… sheesh… [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image] )Anywho, here they are: [image]http://www.exiges.com/gallery/elisegt1.jpg[/image] [image]http://www.exiges.com/gallery/elisegt2.jpg[/image] [image]http://www.exiges.com/gallery/elisegt3.jpg[/image] [image]http://www.exiges.com/gallery/elisegt4.jpg[/image] [image]http://www.exiges.com/gallery/elistgt5.jpg[/image] [image]http://www.exiges.com/gallery/elistgt6.jpg[/image] [image]http://www.exiges.com/gallery/elisegt7.jpg[/image] [This message has been edited by Admin5 (edited 30 September 2001).]

OK, so it’s probably a race-one, but they managed to get a decent filler-cap on that flippin’ car !

Looks like it has 2 filler caps, one each side - balancing the weight i suppose [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image]

Can anyone read the decal on that back, it doesn’t look like it reads Elise, to me, it appears to read Elel ???

Wouldn’t it just give you the horn driving that down the road?! [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]

It certainly look like one of the GT v8’s. If memory serve, lotus motorsport built two, one to compete in the GT series & the other a prototype road version, but due to changes in the regulations it pulled out of the GT series. Lotus did’nt actually own the cars, it only made them for a customer (long time ago since I read the book so I cant remember the name). Both we black, one did get registered & the other didn’t.I’ll get my book out tonight & find out all the info & post it here tomorrow.Deano[This message has been edited by Deano (edited 01 October 2001).]

Hi Deano. I’d be interested to hear what your book says, because I was certain there were more than two of them. I was in the pits at Donnington with 2 or 3 race cars when they were running in the GT series, and that doesn’t count the road car(s)… [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/confused.gif[/image]

it looks amazing…I have the chrono 1:18 model in the same paint scheme but logo’d up as proton and driven by Franck Muller.Phil - you’re right it can be filled from either side. The only difference I can see is in the mirrors - my model has the upright le mans style ones.

see my report on www.pistonheads.com lotus newsand commentit’s a new car built as a race one

Cheers Frank. If the photos are yours (or if you know who took them), hope you/they don’t mind them being used, without getting permission beforehand.Must have been an awesome sight & sound [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]
