My preference would be a similar spec to this but a black exige - I am sure there is someone on here that has such a car that posts on BM3W…?
Anyway, is this car known to anyone here, I know it’s not an Exige - if so, is the provenance in question? The guy selling has had it for 5 years and says that he has spent a lot of money on it (circa 100k including the car!!) It was owned by Eliseparts before that. The guy seems nice enough, but it worries me to buy a car that I don’t know the full history - i.e. has it been bent at all etc. Also a lot of money for a car that is coming up to 10 years old!! I know the car was rebuilt, so not strictly 10 years old -the engine only has about 3k miles on it in total, and the rest has been rebuilt very recently! Am I worrying unduly?
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mark
Oh and Tony if you are reading this - I have to ask!
If thats the car I think it is its had an incredibly hard life. /understatement
but its more about how well the current version has been put together.
Lets face it - these are old cars now and there is an arguement that a stuffed car thats been really well rebuilt can be better than an unmolested original car with rotten wishbones/subframe/floors/roll bar mounts etc.
yeah but it will always be worth more if it hasn’t been crashed or burnt. people are always having stuff changed so there will be lots of rebuilt cars about that haven’t been wrote off. What does he want for this car now? Last time i heard it was 35000 which seemed a silly price. I wouldn’t pay that if it was an Exige and had never been damaged so as its an Elise that has it cant be worth that. id have thought 20000 is a fair price.

He is not looking to get 35k any more - the figure he has in mind is in the 20’s. I agree with you on 20,000 - that’s the figure I would be willing to go to - any more is just too much considering the history!! It is entirely irrelevant how much has been spent on the car - it is only worth what someone is willing to pay.
If anybody knows of a 300bhp Audi or Honda Concerted S1 Exige then please get in contact, as this would be my ideal car!
