Electric Window not fully closing

Hi,

Has anyone else had this problem. It happened a while back that the window was approximately 1 inch short of fully shutting and i had to pull it up manually which almost brought tears to my eyes. Problem is, while it was fine for a couple of months, it now seems to be doing it all the time.

I realise the chances are this problem has been caused by some idiot passenger using the window for leverage when they have been getting out of the car . Does anybody know if this is an easy fix or is it going to become a bigger problem if I leave it and eventually break the electric window motor?

Cheers

Might be the top fixing screw on the front guide rail has come loose. Drive the window down and look forward between the rubber bits, might need a torch, you should see the guide rail and the top fixing, usually a posidrive screw. Check this is fully tight. HTH

Cheers mate.

I will give that a wee look tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

this is a regular problem in mine - I usually live with it until the car has to visit the stealer TBH.

Ditto … had mine done again last week.

Not had a chance to check it yet…but out of interest, does the stealer steal too much to fix it??

This is probably it, and it takes one minute to fix. Just tighten the screw. Happens all the time.

Warranty on mine.

My first technical question on Exiges.com has been a pleasant succcess. Mnay thanks for the advice all. And if I may add, that was one good screw
