Edwards Splitter

Had to remove my splitter today as it had met one too many speed bumps, several of the nylon bolts have broken off.

Tried to remove the broken threads but whatever was holding the nuts in has broken loose inside.

Does anybody know how the nuts are fixed on the inside and do you have to remove the original spoiler to replace them?

The nylon bolts screw into small plates, which are bonded to the inside of the original spoiler. If it’s only the outermost bits (ie furthest from the tow eye), that are knackered, you should be able to get at them by removing/flexing the wheelarch liner. Other than that, it’s removal of the original spoiler.

Been there, done that etc…

Thanks Pesky.

Typically its the middle ones that have broken away. How are the plates bonded in, ie what will I need to repair them

“Araldite” should do the trick.

The bolts are attached to thin plates that are fibre glassed over to hold them in place.

But I think Pesky’s fix’ll do it.

Thanks all, thats another nasty job to add to the list then.
