Hello, Just a quick question on whether you all reckon its worth getting the ECU reflash from Lotus sport? Does it just bring the Cam change down a bit?
Also i am keen on getting some harnesses fitted… Again, worth it? I dont really want to pay Lotus 650 to do it so are they difficult to fit? Or will this void my warentee etc?
Lowering the cam change point would be no-brainer for me (others don’t share that view).
Harnesses - unless you’re a regular trackdayer, I wouldn’t bother (you need a “harness bar” as well as the harnesses themelves, & design of standard seats is not ideal for harnesses either).

It makes the car a better drive throughout the rev range & is a total no brainer. Best thing I’ve done with mine so far
Thanks for the replies! I already have the harness bar and sport seats, but just not sure if they would be more of a hinderance than anything… perhaps the novelty would wear off quickly?
Ideally, you should retain the inertia belts, as well as fitting harnesses. The harnesses are an absolute ball acher in town driving - make visibility exiting from a side road, into a main road, a nightmare!
Hi, ive just had my ecu done from Hanger at 299 plus vat and i think its well worth it. It just feels so much crisp through the revs with no flat spots and cam change at 5700. My car is standard apart from stage 2 exhaust and it works great It also feels faster as well although people say its not
Yep I agree with Rob it’s a no brainer, get it done - I only use my harness on track, keep the seat belts and buy from Hanger 111…this is all good advice mate…as is ridding the country of Gordan Brown!
Just installed my reflashed ECU (Hangar 111) on my standard S2 - I have to agree with other posters that the smoother power delivery is so much better.
But, I have one technical question - before the upgrade, my temperature gauge used to rise to 87 degrees and stay there regardless.
Now, it gets to around 87 then I see it fluctuate a few degrees during driving which doesn’t bother me. What does bother me a bit is when I stop - it starts to rise…
As a test, I held the throttle at 1500 to 2000 revs and the temperature rose to 99 within a couple of minutes. Once it hit 99, it slowly started to come down again.

Any ideas???
You may want to recheck the ECU conection, make sure there are no bent pins…
It sounds as though your electric water recirculation pump to the head is not operating on shutdown, check your conections…

Exactly the same for me, but mine is still standard
