ECU motorsport reflash

Out of interest what fuel are you using Unleaded ron 95 or Super Unleaded Ron 97 ?

I have always used the the Super Unleaded

BP super

What’s BP super in England? Ron 98?

I used to use Ron 95 on my NA Exige S2 as various dealers told me using higher octane fuel would make zero difference…

why would they say that is has a knock sensor

its the k series which does not.

The ecu t4 re-flash sounds like a really good improvement but does it significantly effect fuel economy? Does motorway driving use more fuel?

I don’t suppose anyone has done a dyno before and after?

Bunch of muppets which dont know their product

It will only effect fuel economy when you are on 2nd cam so as long as you dont use 3rd gear on the motorway you should not have any change. In genral it should not effect economy that much.

My dealer is currently getting hold of me a Re-flashed ECU, so we can carry out a straight swap-over so i don’t have to take the car off the road for a week

One thing i was wondering about is what is the diff between a ‘A’ Spec ECU as fitted to early O4 car and the ‘B’ Spec ECU as fitted to the later cars ?

anyone know ?

The ability to be re-flashed - although Bemani have got around this and can now hack both a and b specso I think Lotus could if they could be arsed!

Which dealer are you using and how much are they charging for this? I’ve only seen a price for the ECU swap for the “A” ECU on the Bell & Colvill site (581 inc). Do all the dealers charge the same???

im using HHC @ Hexham and they all appear to charge the same

It’s been said before, but what a rip-off for just plugging the thing in for 5 mins. I’d like this done but I’ll wait until it’s been worked out and prices come down.

it transforms the car so get it done asap imo and dont think about the cost.

I waited 2 years to buy an Exige as the standard map is so bad it put me off buying the car.

“Don’t think about the cost” eh?

you must have far too much money, are YFS or have a wife that won’t notice when best part of 600 notes dissappears from the old bank account lol

Thats where the secret credit card come in use to pay for toys for the car and the odd trackday

Had my Lotus Sport ECU fitted this afternoon, big thanks to HHC for getting their hands on one so it was just a drive in and swap over

I was a little dubious about how much of a difference moving the switch point to 5700, but i have to say the car is now much much more drivable on the road, where as before anything other than a change up on the red line resulted in the car dropping off cam, and mine seemed to have a flat spot at around the 5K-6K RPM, now the flat spot has gone it feels like it pulls a little better from 4K onwards and the high cam range is so much more usable

I know its been said plenty of time before but…

If you have a NA car [color:“red”] ITS A COMPLETE NO BRAINER , its what it should have been all along

If you have a NA car [color:“red”] > ITS A COMPLETE NO BRAINER > , its what it should have been all along

Almost correct - it should have been supercharged from day one

Glad you’re pleased though, Phil You just need to earn a few brownie points now, after reading the email I sent you earlier

Brownie points are in short supply at the moment, im in arrears,
she found out about the new camera i ordered, and if she finds out about the ECU i will be moving into the shed

i will be moving into the shed

Aah, that must be the communal “exiges.com shed”, where we all end up!
