Easter weekend!

Easter weekend used to mean our annual pilgrimage to Anglesey. As it rolled around again, I dragged my car outta the garage and drove it out into the Surrey Hills for a Lotus meet. Driving the car and meeting some Exigers (Mark who is on here somewhere) made me realise how much I miss those days.

I hope that you guys and your cars are in fine form..

Ben, your car looks rubbish!! It’s soo far from standard, it should be banned from being called an Exige!!
In all seriousness, glad you are still enjoying it! It’s mega!
Those Easter weekends at Anglesey weren’t silly at all.

Tell more about Anglesey easter weekenders?

Umm, there were a few, it became the Exiger’s ‘home’ for a few years as the first track day of the year, after Croft got a little bit too quiet to deal with.
I had JSRacing, halfway between London and Anglesey, and a few locals as customers. Then it was suggested it would be good to there meet on the way.
There was a tunnel very near our workshop.
There were a lot of 11’s.
There was some road sign replication.
And a couple of maximum breaks.
Meeting at ours was a brilliant idea. But I don’t think we can get away with it now sadly!
It’s all here - mostly!

I shall investigate! Thanks.

Great to hear from you John!

They were the best times, we used to sell out a day over Easter weekend for years, firstly with BaT and then with LoT. We even got PH along one year :

We also used to have the best nights in the PremInn in Bangor…ahhh memories.

The car is still good John, I’d forgotten how f’in ballistic it is tbh!!

Welcome back, Benja, we’ve been worried about you!
Car’s looking good as always ( apart from when you had those white wheels).
I’m still enjoying mine 74k miles in and one engine rebuild.
Anglesey days were great on and off track, although I never made the Prem Inn. Keep enjoying the Exige

Great memories, with good friends. Be great to get folks back together even if we don’t all still have Exiges anymore. Mind you, I’m still often tempted :).

We can’t really mention the A55 speed tests record .. but the farmer firing slurry at overtakes must be public domain …

Only just looked at the PH report, no recollection of reading it at the time either which is a surprise given that my S1 features!
Did a quick search on laptop and found these from that Easter meet.
I think the S1 is Andy D’s but don’t think he was there to drive it. Maybe it’s The Stig in the white helmet?!

Great to hear from some of the old-guard and see more pics. We really had so much fun and the forum used to be super-busy back then in the olden days before social-media really took hold.

I’d be up for trying to meet up at some point,…maybe another C&M date?

I think it was Andy’s friend Stan that was driving his Audi-S1

If you can avoid any of the LOT UK track days that we attend, am sure I/we would be up for C&M meet.
It won’t be quite the same as driving to Anglesey going briskly - in my mind! - only to have a evo_ufo fly by!
