Easiest way to make a little website**Updated**

Evening all,

I first put this topic in the Lotus Talk area which was probably wrong, so mods, please delete from there.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone could recommend an easy way of making a quick and very cheap/free website. Something relatively basic as I’m not exactly brilliant with computer stuff, but I’m not useless either… I don’t think.

I’ll be competing in Time Attack again next year after a year out and will be in the Pro Class on full slicks. I just wanted to create a tiny little site, so that I have somewhere to share what I’m doing, what’s happening to the car, etc, etc.

Any pointers would be much appreciated.

You want a wordpress site, most website hosts will set you one up as part of the service.

Some ISP’s give you an amount of space to create your own mini-site.

Muu , I’m having reliability problems
with a new virgin install … WiFi
is proving so unreliable with them and cos I’ve complained within 7 days I have the option to ditch it …
3g is available here and a friend has tested the speed from my house…
Q.
Should I jump ship ?
3g was x2 the speed I would like …

yeah virgin connection I had was crap, went to sky and it’s really reliable, and while not as quick in peak it’s great for downloading etc

Easy get your domain name and hosting, very cheap and reliable, there are other companies that do much the same…

Well, in a quite short space of time I’ve managed to get a little site up and running. Still loads to do on it, but it’s laid out and getting there. Very good and easy to use software with 1&1, baring in mind I’m a computer numpty.

Have a quick look. I’d really appreciate any feedback or pointers on anything at all. Cheers. Jamie

The good, interesting bits are still to come on the ‘2012 build’ section, but not for a while. The car’s going to look a tad more extreme with regards to aero.

if you can get the site to spit updates out via twitter, people like myself can track updates and it’ll drive more traffic back
