Drove my Exige today!!!!

Drove my Exige for the first time in 6 months today!!!

Reversed up drive 5m and re-parked it to allow the painters to place ladders!

Small things are very rewarding atm. Pushing down the clutch pedal was scary at first, a little pain but not as much as I expected.

Good news, Damon - Rome wasn’t built in a day, but you’re now on the way!

Me too, but not very far. Picked it up from the garage after B service, MoT and new alternator and it dumped all its coolant after about twenty miles. Oh well!

No! That’s just you. Everyone else calls me Sir or Mike.

Anyway, who woke you up? I see that on another thread someone said they wouldn’t have put you as old as 50 years + all those years you’ve had the Exige. They obviously haven’t met you or have mistaken you for someone much better looking

Ben, I know they are… Oh what to do

I’m swiftly catching up with that fine gentleman, Mr Henry Allingham, I’ll have you know, you whippersnapper!

Well, I’ve had one drive (in a left-hooker) and now I’m waiting for a go in a RHD variant. We’ll see…

Desperate measures…

My Wife is going to drive the Exige to work and back tomorrow to give it a run out

Fingers crossed!

I wish I knew - it’s still being investigated but the real clue was an engine comaprtment full of steam. By the time I stopped (within 1/2 mile) the temp was right up, the system boiling and header tank ‘alive’. Eventually all the coolant ran out underneath while I was parked by the side of the road. I had driven about 20 miles before it happened and seemed fine. I fear the worst but the engine ran perectly (briefly, of course) when cooled down and the oil looks fine. I’ll let you all know what we find…

As for the Evora, Mrs Stripe is refusing to re-mortgage at the moment…
