Don't laugh.....Winter tyres on an Exige?
Tal, in fairness you spent most of the Anglesey day facing the wrong way
Oi you!!! That was purely cuz I was pushing so hard…

I also wanted to see where the limits of the car were and to be able to catch the car, obviously found it and failed miserabley a few times…but it’s such a safe place to lose it and learn at the same time.

Plus they did go off towards the end of my 20 min laps…think the last run they lasted about 5-10mins.

But they are still a great road tyre, in the dry and especially in the wet, which is what I initially got them for…phew!

Always find this online tool very useful - used it when hunting for different tyres for the elise and went up from a 175 to a 195, while keeping the same radius:

20 min laps, wow, you were taking it steady matey

PMSL! Not bad going backwards tbh

I wonder if insurance companies have a view on alternative tyres for our cars, particularly if they want to wiggle out of a claim?

Perhaps any premium or other make in a size suitable for the wheel be ok, but would this include an elise 175 section front??

Every winter in Scotland my Exige (previously 135r) is fitted with the lotus recommended Pirelli 210 Snowsport tyres.

Slower, squidgy, less vibration, very predictable and a great time to learn powersliding without trashing the gearbox.

They provide summer confidence at slow speeds. While expensive they have lasted 5 years.
