I was thinking it might be nice to get some Evo type shots with that many Exiges on track.
I have the correct mounts to mount my digi SLR to any car.
All that would be required is all the Exiges to drive at 20-30mph could be very good.
Would this be allowed in the lunch break?
Shoudl be able to get something like

Don’t know whether or not we will be allowed to drive round (however slowly!) over the lunch break - H&S & Insurance stuff will probably prevent it! However, we’ll see what can be arranged.

Thanks for volunteering.

Folks, don’t forget that Benja & Jason will be there taking photos - as good as any you will see in any of the mags

If everyone agrees this is a good idea… we don’t need to wait till Lunch !!

we could arrange a 20 min session or something in th eafternoon just to do this… no ??

I think it would be quite a cool thing… as long as we all got into the pics somehow.

What I would do would be mount the camera high and do it at a corner with a wide angle lense should be able to get everyone in just need to get everyone in nice and tight

Afraid not, we’ve not got enough Exiges booked (only 40) for an exclusive day, so there will inevitably be other peeps there too. Bear in mind, that Tracksport have laid out 14100 to hire the circuit (without any other expenses such as instructors), & we’re only contributing 10K (40 x 250), they have to make the shortfall up somehow!

Donington rules are that for the first 1/2 hour, there is a compulsory “familiarisation” session (no overtaking & behind pace car) for novices. Also booked in to that 1/2 hour are 20 (yes 20!) novice Porsche drivers who have paid for the familiarisation session only. Some, may of course, then also book the rest of the day. I believe eight MX5 racers have also booked on for the full day.

I am to be honest, rather surprised & dissappointed that after last year’s comments at Croft ie preferred weekend & central location, we only have 40 cars (incl 3 Elises) booked on so far - most being the “usual” regulars, & it is neverthelsss great to have some new faces to put names to.

Looking forward to Donni.
Noting the comments re other cars at the same event would there not be merit in tying up with Lotus on Track, where there is always a good crowd, good value for money and only few non Loti to chase. Porka 996/7 etc
Look forward to putting the world to rights on Sat evening.

Only the cost to blame for that one Pesky Im afraid, 250 is a lot of anyones money and that is before you start adding in petrol, digs and general wear and tear on the car.

The avaerage spend is going to be somewhere around 400…

Fair comment Gav, but unless something radical happens, the reasonably priced “open pitlane” trackday at the major circuits, is a thing of the past

Anyway, whatcha doing up at this time?

The cat needed letting out!!

Your dead right though Pesky, UK trackdays are getting more costly by the minute…Not only that, but there seems to be something missing from them these days and the enjoyment factor is not as good as it used to be…

I have a couple of trips planned in europe this year (spa for 2 days in may for statrters) but im seriously considering sticking a cage in the car and doing a couple of the ME races in the production class towards the end of the year… watch this space

If cost is an issue, you could consider an evening session @ Donington like Bookatrack offer, which is 99.

The also have a trackday in August for 195.

Unless the day is run by Donington themselves, I can’t see you going around that track much cheaper…

Donnington has always been too expensive, even back in the early 90’s before tack days, when it was a racecar test day, we never went there to test because it was double the price of everywhere else.

Compared to Cadwell which is a better track to drive by miles, and which costs 99 (winter) and 129 (summer) it really does show that something is wrong. But if people are prepared to pay and drive at those prices, then Donnington and other tracks will keep charging them.

It’s not a dig at anyone on here. The entry speaks for itself, people would rather travel to Croft and pay sensible money than travel to Donnington and get shafted.
