Car on trailer and ready to go
See you boys in the morning
Cheers Jonny L!!
Had a mental day today, havenât even thought about tomorrow yet. Thank god S2 track day prep is nothing more than filling it up with fuel on the way tomorrow.
Oh, must clear down the memory card in my camera too.
So who is gonna be doing Craners flat?!?!?!
Not me Iâm scared
Leaving soon, hotel just by the airport for tonight
Managed to wash the car which was about the extent of my prep,âŚoh and make sure the windows wind down in case it pisses down
As far as the curry, I suggest we go for the place we went to before in Castle Donington :
42 Borough St
Castle Donington, Derby DE74 2LB
01332 814 737
Iâll give them a call and tell them that about 12 of us will be there for 6-6:30
Note this is the place I booked last time, but I was sick and did not attend the day and none of you fxxxers bothered going and they were phoning me up wondering where we were
Its called the Rose of Bengal and its now booked.
It looks like thisâŚ
Does it have trailer friendly parking? Please say yes!!!
There is no parking at the restaurant but Iâd imagine it wonât be a problem on a Tue evening in Castle Doningtn. Itâs only 3miles or so from the circuit though,âŚbut if anyone has any better suggestions??
Youâll find somewhere for the trailers, itâs all relatively close by anyways.
Just waiting for Markyb to turn up at mine in that crazy-ass S2000 of his

I might manage a flat spin at the bottom again
Man its earlyâŚyawn.
Gutted I cant be there. Have a good one guys
PS Chicken Naga at Rose of Bengal is awesome
Firstly sorry I ducked out on the curry BenâŚ
Great day, all the usually faces making for an actual brilliant day in fact. Damp until about 11 then nothing but sunshine. Thatâs it for me until next year now, let the modding begin
If you werenât there you were missedâŚAnyone for Spa next August
Jonny
No curry Mr Fox ???
Anyway good day overall - crap in morning, nice in the afternoon. Good to catch up with some of the Spa crew - already looking forward to next year.
Iâll upload some mildly interesting video later - some decent footage of Sean and I dicing with some muppets in caterhamâs and a good tussle with Ian
Apologies if I didnât say goodbye to everyone - you know what itâs like when your trying to get away
Tell me about inlet temps ??

General rule of thumb is a Masala is fairly mild, a vinderloo bloody hotâŚbut you should know all this Jonny
Yeah was an awesome day. I enjoyed the damp in the morning, but this afternoon was epic. Had a great session chasing Ben, we were both trying a bit too hard at times and I got it all on film.
Did three tanks of fuel!!!
OK - here we go
Max IAT for the day was 65 in the afternoon when it warmed up.
10-15 degreeâs less than Spa but ambient temp was at least 10-15 degreeâs less. Obviously not as long on WOT as at Spa either.
From todayâs running the main benefit appeared to be recovery rather than prevention of higher temps.
The IAT dropped much quicker than it did at Spa and seemed to prevent the dreaded heat soak once I got back in the pits
After a 1/2 lap cool down the IATâs where down in the low 30âs and didnât climb much before the next run
So to conclude the additional ducting and resultant airflow may not prevent the high temps but it definately helps recovery and prevents heat soak
Hi,
I had a great day generally taking absurd lines with the odd (lots) off track excursion. I must apologise for creating localised black clouds. Hopefully by next time out I will have no smoke and some more powerâŚ
Today I seem to loose about 15mph over last time just by having the turbo rebuilt which is pretty annoying.
Phil
Got back about 30mins ago after dropping Ian back in Basingstoke - the detour was worth it to have someone to chat to (well shout at) for 80% of the schlep South (cheers Ian). Glad to be home, knackered but also kinda wired from driving all day and tanking Red Bull to stay awake.
Another cracking day. Some lovely machines there, a beautiful Chevron, the Lola thing and that proper LOUD 360 Challenge and as usual great to see the usual suspects out to play (with a few notable exceptions).
Yeah me and Sean had a proper ding-dong for a couple of laps which was a hoot. The performance differential between our cars was effectively ironed out by my shite driving I have it on film too but it mainly consists of me over-driving and looking in my mirror a lot
No worries about the curry JF, next time.
Thanks also to John and Steve for identifying and fixing my âthonkâ!!
