Donnington Evening (Friday 1st August)

Thinking of doing this and starting the weekend off in style !

Anyone else fancy it… Donnington is becoming my new favourite circuit ! (I really want to do Oulton this year too to get a comparison from the changes I made to the car) , but BookaTrack don’t have any days during the summer :frowning: )

I’m in and to Gandhi’s for a Fri night curry.

Even if you’re not on track come along for the social…eh Sean

Will stay for the curry also this time

I am looking free, so will come along.

Oh shift I’m at Le Mans on track instead

I’m booked on this one too

I’m trying a track eve with the wife for the first time!!! It could all go horribly wrong - wish me luck!

We are going to Ghandis afterwards though, so it’s not all bad

Poor poor Mrs M C1RVY no showboating!

Mrs C1RVY aka Cirvyette

I’ve told her - strictly no kerbs either!!!

I am sure she will be fine. To be fair she could not be any worse than session one at Anglesey earlier this year.

Remember the kerbs are your friend!

Ohhhh I, tempted as Luxembourg finishes the Friday the week before…

Do it, should be a great day/evening. :sunglasses:

Donington, 1933 stylee…

Are you the one wearing the sash Rob? Looks very camp :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow! What a photo. What corner is that I wonder??

I’m pretty sure it’s Redgate, Simon.

83man will know for sure though!

Jeez that would focus the mind, coming down Craner’s with trees all over the shop :astonished: :open_mouth:

There’s a trackside shop too Benja :open_mouth: :stuck_out_tongue:

At least one can get a cuppa old-boy when you’ve run a bit wide and destroyed your horseless-carriage on one of those exit-trees

Looking at the elevation changes I reckon that pic is actually The Old Hairpin when it was actually more of a hairpin looking back up towards Craner Curves. I guess it was The New Hairpin in those days

I think Benja may be right with the old/new hairpin. Does bring into context how far things have come in the last 80 years.

Was it here that had the link to the lap of Oulton Park when it was just opened? Was equally crazy, with trees on the apex to ‘discourage corner cutting’ Need a few of those in F1, let see how many finish!!!
