Donington Unsilenced Day 22nd October

Focussing on this now…hopefully Monday is dyno then putting some miles on it.

Just had a look and as is typical of this event there is gonna be some mega machines on circuit so worth a visit even if you’re not driving.

Can’t make Hethel either mate!!! Bloody work…

Have a great day there

I’m afraid I’m out of this too :frowning:

There’s been quite a few logistics delays on the build and me changing my mind on the scope, which has made it all a bit back-loaded. Matt was up for pulling out all the stops and getting the car finished for dyno on Mon, Donny Tue but I told him to take his time. We all have enough stress in our lives and so much work has gone into the car already that I honestly don’t want to rush the final mile. I’ll post some pics up on the other thread in a minute, it really is looking mint.

The car will probably still be back next week and I’ll be looking for an event to give it a shakedown.

Sorry Jonny it looks like it will just be you and Andrew.

Never mind mate, it’s cool

Shame, Ben, I was hoping to pop down for a gander at all the good work.

Will come & see you there, Jonny.

Mark

Yeah I know,…but it will be worth the wait.

Looks like Tim and I might go to Brands at the beginning of Nov for a gentle shakedown :unamused: but I would like to get Donny before the year is out,…I’ll let you know if I do bud.

 Get there by 8.30 Mark and you can have a play…

I have decided not to do this now, weather looks changeable at best and my 888s are at the end of their life. I am going to put the cash towards the brakes over the winter along with a new set of tyres. Then be ready for Anglesey at Easter

Have a great day to those that are actually going to make it. It looks like the weather might be a bit shit so be careful out there.

Yep, that would be good.

How did you go guys? At least some of it must have been dry?

What do you mean guys, how did it go Jonny :frowning:

Well that’s not entirely true as feeling slightly sorry for myself, the weather mostly sh1te again I drove into the pits and Gary and Yvonne were standing by my garage  they’d come down from Aberdeen just to see me, yes really they had  And as if by magic MarkPH turned up too on his way to Germany, what a Legend  AND Jonny or jonamacg83 off here and MLOC was next door in his Ultima  So proper cheered up and the sun starting to shine on a wet track I was finally able to get up to speed, ok only the first bits true because it takes ages to get my 888’s even slightly warm in the pouring rain on a wet track but at about 23 degrees they’re ok but not great. The wet line was crucial all day there really is no point hitting the apex at Redgate, McLeans or Coppice but at 24 degrees speed increased nicely although still fun in places. The rain hammered down again just before lunch but the sun came out again after so sat in the car waiting on a red flag, turned off the engine, green on go, went to turn the engine on and NOT for me, oh no, Cartek number two had clearly put its mandatory two years in just like the last one and bloody failed! Got it started again later on, had a few laps but it was playing up. Day over so drove home at 3pm while I still could but that wasn’t fun at all, very almost getting collected in between cutting in and out on the A42. I carry a spare, got lazy and almost died, there’s a lesson there somewhere. Anyway thanks for popping in Gary, Yvonne and Mark reall appreciate it

Need some fricking R1R’s or cooking wets over winter, I’m a bloody rain magnet

Get one of these http://www.simtekuk.co.uk/product.php/ev200_electronic_battery_isolator_kit/?k=:::223807 Seem to be far more robust than the Carteks.

Plus Jay and Ginny are mega helpful with any electrical stuff.

Sat in my favorites already from the last time you advised me…

Sorry bud, you know I would have been there with you if I could :frowning:

Sounds like it was a bit of a mixed day all in all huh. That’s a bit of a missed opportunity given historical Donny noisy days,…next time.

Lol no biggy dude, just kidding

Yeah well I still would have liked to be there…

…although trying to deploy 3xx raging Honda horses would have been quite interesting.

For those that weren’t there is was a bloody wet day!

Great to catch up, Jonny & the car looks (& sounds) great, mate.

Really wish I could have been on track with you & with the cat by pass on, but not today!

Can’t believe how few cars were there & so you must have had some great track time.

All the best,

Mark

Oops. At least I’m consistent!!
