Donington tips please

I’m off to Donington for the first time next Monday. While last week is still fresh in the minds of those that were there last week, could you please let me know the tricky bits and any advice for safely enjoying the track.Cheers, Ian [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]

Lots of Donington footage at JimboCam.com including a full lap on the laps page.[This message has been edited by Jimbo (edited 20 July 2002).]

IDGVery fast circuit, but great fun! Be a little careful - it’s quite easy to come unstuck on some of the very fast curves, Cramer for example.Last time out there, 7 cars were damaged.Best tip is to get instruction from one of the chaps there - its only 30 and worth every penny. Otherwise, some of the bends and apexes are much slower than they should be.I’m not trying to worry you - its a great place - but worth doing it properly first time out.Mike

Top day!Jimbo vid was useful, especially for the lines in and out of the Craner curves. All confirmed by the instructors. The EVO chaps certainly make it fun while you’re not driving. Various fast laps with them. Phil Bennett (of BTCC fame) is an absolute nutter! Sitting next to him in a STi Scooby trying to catch a 450bhp EVO 7 will take a long time to forget.Currently 3rd gear seems to take care of most of the lap, when I fit the 190 I get the feeling I’m going to have to work much harder at Donington. And that’s in a car that is already a rolling sauna!Ian [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]

IDG - are you going to the Silverstone Evo track day in a couple of weeks?Christine
