As IDG has said on another thread - big thanks to everyone who turned up on the day, whether driving or spectating, it’s you who really do make our days such a success.
I would also like to thank Tracksport for committing themselves to the day early on this year
However, an extra special thanks must go to Lotus Cars who, I’m sure we all agree, supported us in an exceptional way. Gav & Matt were the “front line”, but I know for a fact that a lot of work had taken place in the background at Hethel, so a big thanks should go to Caroline Parker who co-ordinated the factory effort on our behalf.
Seconded! Plus as others have said on the other threads big thanks to you Rob & Mike (83man) for all your hard work…a suberb day
Tim.
Yes, thanks to everybody involved. I had a fantastic day, and I wasn’t even driving
My ‘hot laps’ with Matt Becker were truly awesome. Reminded me just how great our cars are, and I finally understood the oft-repeated idea that there’s no point spending loads of cash modifying the car to make it a little better here and there. Exiges are amazing in standard form, and the first thing that needs improving is the nut behind the wheel.
The day was only spoiled by two things for me. First, I broke JohnO’s car Sorry John
Secondly, when I got home I found that my new rear wing is starting to come apart. I need to find a better way of fixing the wing to the supports.
Woohoo! I’m a Veteran at last
Simply fantastic Day - got to be best Loti Day ever for me
Thanks to all for the rides - looking forward to my first TD at croft on the 13th.
Nice one Rob and all who made it such an incredible day!
No!! Thank you Uncle Pesky and your lad RussT for a another top danglies exiges.com trip out!! Thanks also to Jill, Martin and Steve Edwards for their genourous hospitality (yet again), thanks to Steve Edwards for taking track time out to fix a wayward hose to the radiator on my Exige. Big rap also to Lotus Cars, Gav and Matt, Mike (83man) for the Polo-shirts and last but not least all the guy’s and gal’s from Tracksport who gave that little bit extra to make it more than just another trackday. How do we top this one next year??
Commiserations to RussT (no car on the day, probably another thread covers that) who was running around organising the Gav and Matt pax rides (did see you out driving the 220S though). Uldis, Chris (EvoSal) and ShaunB who’s day was spoiled by one thing or another (again see other threads) and the other exigers who had tales of woe on the day.
A mate of mine who’s a track day nut with both bikes and cars (Supercharged 2.8 Z3 and yes we will hold that against him)came down as an extra driver commented what a fantastic bunch, everyone mixing, everyone helping each other with their car problems, taking other owners and spectators out for laps, you just don’t get that on BMW trackdays. Made me feel kinda proud to be part of it all.
But what about ‘THEE’ Mr Adrian Newey out driving the 220S late afternoon, wonder what he made of it all?
John
Yes thanks for a great day out 3 rides out as a passager .
And with Gav going round one word WOW he can drive .
Thanks again .
Many thanks for a fantastic weekend at Donington and Brands.
Full marks to everyone involved in the organisation and running of the Donington track day.
Bens photos are superb. I now understand why people have full face helmets…it hides all those funny facial expressions from camera!!!
The excitement at Brands certainly beats any current F1 racing and am looking forward to Snetterton on Saturday 3 June.
Regards,
David.
