Look someone took a picture and his camera survived!
First of Gav’s new paintjob on track, and it does look good!
Good to see a few familiar faces and some newbies on the track, popping back tomorrow for a look round the show as only manage about 20mins there today.
Anything worth buying in the show?
See there were some nice cars there

Green S1 is RobS(mallshaw’s) pride & joy - about time he gave it a polish
PS Rob, like the towing eye
Was good to meet you Pesky, many thanks for the low down on my car! Blew a cv joint on the way back to the motorway but dont care! Absolutely love it, i can now safely say that ive got a proper car. I now just need to learn how to drive it! Cheers Ed
Ed
Your car looked fantastic as it flew past the pits, then spat flames as you changed gear before Redgate That is one quick car, matey
Sorry to hear about the cv joint, but obviously the clutch was okey dokey

Must be running lean Ed, better send it back…
Lol, erm nah, your ok, will the flames get bigger when i put the de-cat back on?! Im guessing the cat is fecked now! Ah well, atleast i didnt get flagged for noise! Ive heard a story about cats catching fire, is that true? cheers Ed
Yup nice to see so many familiar faces - just wished I had been driving.
Congrats Ed on your new purchase - was nice to meet you (I was the one talking to you whilst you were in the car telling you where to find Martin). It looked like the car was going great screaming past the pits spitting flames with Walshy in the Sincs Camel car in hot pursuit. Can’t wait to get my charger bolted on now
A nice precursor to next Saturday
Cheers matey, sadly that wasnt me driving! Maybe one day! I have a sneaky suspicion that it didnt do my cv joint any favours! I tried to find martin yesterday and today but he wasnt about, hopefully will meet him at some point soon. Cheers Ed
you mean you’ve broke my old red beast already. Sounds like you had a good day at the track with it though, im starting to regret selling it already. I wish i had took it out on the track before i sold it. Im not sure about buying an Evo now i might turbo the s2.
You should although i dont think it would get anywhere near the red un! Cant wait to get it back! cheers

If your car is overfuelling then I believe that it will ruin a cat or at least substantially reduce its effectiveness; but also with the design it will tend to collect the unused fuel and with the very high temps they run at it will burn the fuel.
I think cats causing fires was the cause of at least a couple of 340Rs melting - literally, if you see the photos there was very little left. This was taken seriously enough by Lotus that they issued the revised 190 ECU.
Did any one out there photo the 49 being bump started on Sunday morning behind my motor caravan? I missed the opportunity because once it fired up Bob Dance shot back to the exhibition centre. I enjoyed my first track day in the Exige but was puzzled at being black flagged on noise, I am sure there were noisier cars out there. It went from 88/89 in the morning to 99/100 with one high of 106 in the afternoon. I need help!

I think drive by noise is measured on the inside/outside of the pit straight, so the advice to those that may be marginal is to stay towards the other side and short shift past the meter.
There are now sound meters around the circuit - so I’m told!
Will have to get my cat of just to be on the safe side. Will i notice a significant increase in the noise?!
I noticed 2 microphones on the back straight left and right and then one at the start of the pit straight and one other just after crainers?! White mesh box with a blue thing in it. iirc, cheers Ed

Ed, you should have kept quiet that it was me driving

I would talk to Martin if I were you - you may find you only have a SCRP.
