Donington - Quick report

It was my first track day today, in any car, let alone the Exige. My mind’s still spinning with all the sights and sounds, so I’ll post a fuller report later (if anyone’s interested)Just to say that I had an excellent time, the weather was sunny (but cold) so by 10am the track was dry. It was great to meet up with Steve Green + partner, putting a face to a name.My Exige is still playing up engine wise, and was very much down on power, but that didn’t stop me pulling good G’s through the corners.I’m advised that on over-run, approaching the first bend, the SuperSports exhaust emitted almost deafening bang-bang-crack-pop sounds (which I liked ! [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image])Top stuff.I’m now going to have a bath, and then fall onto the bed… where I shall remain until at least 9am tomorrow.[This message has been edited by Admin5 (edited 12 November 2000).]

Glad you enjoyed it and the weather stayed dry. From the pic of you queing to go out, it looked like there were quite a lot of cars on track at once. Personally, I prefer smaller numbers (www.Easytrack.co.uk and www.BookaTrack.com are ideal companies for this) so I don’t have to worry about spinning with a car up my chuff.Several people commented that my Exige (with new SuperSport exhaust) was much louder than the Elises, at Anglesey yesterday, but it doesn’t seem to provide quite the same level of entertaining bang, crackle, and pop yours does. Like you said elsewhere, this ‘feature’ might be enhanced with the 190 upgrade, or perhaps whatever might be wrong with your car at the moment.Look forward to hearing how you found the car and whether you’ll be going to lots more track days (I know I’m hooked [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]

Donington was 110

I meant mine doesn’t produce the bangs and pops as much :-(I think it’s the cat replacement pipe that makes mine louder than the Elises. Still haven’t had it noise tested, but hopefully it will pass the 105db limit at Brands Hatch in December.

Definitely the most aurally entertaining on overrun…now if you could just get it to flame like the white Evo(?) was then you would have the full package!
