Donington in the wet

Scuffers on a gentle run out last Friday

If that is on 48s or 888s then that’s very impressive.

If thats on 48 or 888, then I am giving up driving!

A Tip for Simon…

You just needs to change your damper settings to improve …

On your camera !!!

Yeah, he’s on 48s*

He is no mean race driver (ex Autobytel Series etc etc), as well as being one of the most knowledgeable on all things Elise/Exige. He is also a damn nice bloke, despite his “infamous” reputation

  • Just guessing, but I’ll try & find out.

The racing god has confirmed tyres as Dunlop wets, 235/610R17 and 200/580R16

His passenger in the original vid (Chris Headlam) can be seen overtaking at around 6min 30sec in his own car (similar spec/tyres to Scuffers)

:astonished: That’s not wet that’s…Noah’s Ark terrortory!

Well, I’m thinking that next Sunday may well be the same!

“Wet” tyres are simply fantastic - I (& a few others on here!) will never forget driving Evosal’s (ex Gav Kershaw) racecar at a very wet Donny about 4 years ago, on wet racing tyres. Our cars were undriveable on the track in the afternoon - 2 streams of water completely flowing right across the Craner Curves, but Chris’s car was sublime! It’s the only time I’ve ever driven a car with a sequential box - that in itself was a great experience.

Anyway, even if it pees down next Sunday, I’m going to have a goodtime, & hope everyone else will too!

I did my FIRST ever laps in an Elise at a rain soaked Silverstone 4 years ago that was part of a ‘track day’ experience… it was that that led me into the joys of gthe Elise/Exige world…

The car had a brand new set of Dunlop racing wets… I could not believe just how amazing they were then… and this vid shows that too! :sunglasses:

Relieved… as I dont really want to stop driving either!

Dunlop wets…where can I get set for Sunday???/

Anybody know if the canteen/cafe will be open as before…need to plan my Sunday roast.

Just note how smooth and gentle he is with the controls no jerks or violent inputs and only 2 obvious slides.…and also how respectful he is to other drivers on the circuit. no harrasing or close pushing… this from a top notch racer, well done Simon :sunglasses:
Hope the weather is not like that on Sunday.
