Best track day company bar non in my opinion. Lifetime membership is only �30 and the track days are well organised, well run and very good value for money.

It is becoming more common now. MSV and LoT I believe are two of the first trackday organisers to go for this new recommendation.

I understand it is an MSA recommendation atm but over time will be mandated.
But if TDO has adopted it now you won’t get on track without one meeting the standards listed.
If you asked Paul G I don’t think you’ll get on without a compliant helmet.
Yeah its just a recomendation. I have never ever had my helmet checked at a track day.

What safety clothing is required?
Helmets are compulsory for all people intending to drive or passenger.
Ideally they should be certified to at least BSI 6658 Type A/FR or Snell SA2005 standard. Some circuits have started to insist on MSA approved helmets only, in particular Silverstone. Helmets can be hired on all Lotus on Track days for �20. It is also compulsory to have both your arms and legs fully covered by your clothing. Some drivers like to wear gloves but this is down to individual preference.
Open face helmets may not be allowed in some open top cars, if this is the case you will be asked to put your roof on or wear a full face helmet.

Current status, for our events at Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Bedford, Snetterton, Oulton Park & Cadwell Park MSA approved helmets are only permitted. We have been told by MSV & Silverstone that all clubs and organisers have agreed to these condition. If you have booked a day with us at one of these circuits and have a helmet that is not valid then please get in touch by email at least 2 weeks before the event and we will allocate you a FREE replacement helmet for the day. (main driver only)
I looked into this a few months ago as I was going to Snett and then Silverstone …
Seems that the checking of helmets is somewhat in a mess … so I dont THINK you really need to worry yet … I hope … certainly didnt have mine checked at the LOT day at Silverstone for example.
Actually at Snet I asked at signing on and the answer I got was
- If it looks OK to the marshal in the pit lane it will be OK
- Many of the helmets we hire are not to the latest spec yet !
Go figure !

It’s my first Donny evening, just wondering if the there will be fuel available at the circuit?
There is a fuel station at Donno and it is usually open when a track day is on. Give Donnington a call and ask 01332 819503
It’s normally only open till 7.30 though so you’ll probably need to fill up half way through the evening or you won’t have enough for the last session (Donny runs till 8.30 so you can get another one in compared to most tracks).
