Actually I booked it the day before. £125 for Donington was too good to refuse. Less than 20 cars there, open pitlane, had loads of laps to myself.
Amazing.
We must arrange a day there next year.
As for the Cup I’d agree that the composure on the track comes at the expense of road manners, in some countries it wouldn’t make sense. But in the UK, with the number and quality of tracks we have, rarely more than few hours drive away a track focused car makes some kind of sense over here.

How was it on tyres & pads?
It was so wet in the afternoon that the tyres and brakes had it easy.
I haven’t done a fully dry trackday yet so the tyres are still fine. P-Zero Trofeos are very soft though, perfect for the UK, maybe a bit too soft for hotter places. Of course it’ll get through a set much quicker than an S2 Exige but it’s also much better than most of the lardy rubbish they pass off as trackday cars these days. The likes of Nissan GTR, 911 GT3, Ferrari Scuderia will get through tyres and brakes on a single day with ease. On Chris Harris’s video for the Ferrari F12, Ferrari supplied him with 5 sets of tyres. He got through one set on a single lap!!!
