Its been for sale at a dealers for an age, which is odd for an S1, possibly colour, price or spec etc dont float peoples boat (I like LRG!) but curious if anyone knows anything about it?

Well I ve phoned up Maidstone who certainly didnt say anything bad about the car and were good enough to give me the former owners number so I could talk to him about it.
I called the former owner who at this point has no reason to be shy in coming forward and he only said good things about it in honesty…

Have subsequently found out car had insurance funded new chassis fitted 6 months ago.

It is all very well ‘us’ keeping this near the top, but the chances are the peep that ends up buying the car may not even know about Exiges.com. 
Caviet Emptor and all that however… hopefully most will want an S1 Exige will do a bit of homework however!
Oddly enough, in 1995 I traded my 1st Caterham against my second, with Paul Clugston who runs UK Sportscars, although in those days he was trading as Kent Sportscars.
The deal was done on the phone, following an exchange of photos/specs etc of the cars involved. All went to plan, a trailer delivered No2, & took No1 back to Kent. I had no complaints at the time, or subsequently.

You’re “probably” safe - I refuse to go anywhere near MaccyD’s, plus the Elise Coupe doesn’t catch my attention!
Bloody hell… some poor bugger from the continent will probably buy this sight-unseen.
I bought mine sight-unseen and I had mine checked over on my behalf by a main dealer. Even so, it was nerve-wracking to hand over the cash without having ever seen the car. Still at least mine turned out to be good, but it could have been a lot worse had something like this LRG one turned up!

I did earlier mail the vendor back and without naming the forum or anyone who may of commented upon the car raise the concern that the car has a bit of “previous”. And asked if its had any chassis work or insurance claims.
He’s certainly denied it and sent me the HPI report.
But I ll certainly ne leaving that one where it is…

Thanks top the Forum, and people being prepared to say the facts!!!
Seems to me (as a by stander) that the previous owner and MSC could/should have been more detailed in their feedback to the enquiry about the car.
I have been trying to make time to get down to UK Sportscars to view an Elan they have for sale. After reading this I am relieved that I have been too busy!!
apparently someone from Italy is enroute to buy…so looks like as above someone from the continent will shortly be in ownership of it.

Ha! How about that, haven’t logged into exiges.com for yonks. First thread I open up and it has a link to a seloc thread I started - what’s the odds of that eh? 
Only came along here to post up a Wanted ad for S1 Exige, guess I’m not the only one. Although I’m looking to throw my sport 160 into the mix so at least I’ll be going from one appreciating asset to another (famous last words).
