Do any of you guys use either of the aforementioned coolants, and if so do they work? I have a bog standard s2 n/a exige and before I go looking at triple pass rads, oil coolers etc, I’m going to work my way up the upgrade ladder. I’ve only done 1 track day before, and it was a pretty hot day, but the water temp never went below 95, so will either of the products help, or is there any further recommendations.
I’d look carefully at what you have to make sure it’s working as intended before splashing out on mods:
is anything blocking airflow over the radiator
what is the quality of the anti freeze being used
reverse flush and bleed fully
Read up about the issues associated with running a triple pass rad on anything other than a dedicated race car. I believe that they may not be suited to an occasional track day car that spends the majority of it’s time on the road.

Struggling to imagine the issue here. Too much cooling and engine not getting up to temp? Thought the thermostat would sort that?

I used to own a Grinnall Scorpion , which we used to tour in Southern Spain, the previous year in the same car it all got a bit hot, so I was recommended to try Water Wetter, , I did, and the problem was solved. I would recommend it

Yup, I used water wetter in my 16V Mini and it helped, also no antifreeze though …
They work by reducing the surface tension of the water so you get more heat transfer into the water.
It wont make the system run at a lower temperature as such, just make it more efficient.
You dont need to add loads either, just follow the instructions. Also note that high percentage mixes of antifreeze can reduce efficiency as its not as good as water for heat transfer.

+1 here.
If you believe you are having temperature problems then it’s more likely to be a result of poor flow (corrosion, debris, etc.) so using additives isn’t the right way to approach the situation.
As above I would start by checking for outside debris then giving the system a good flush through, refill with a good quality antifreeze mix (at the right ratio and make sure it has a corrosion inhibitor) & bleed.
These other ‘coolant improvers’ contain, basically, larger antifreeze molecules, a corrosion inhibitor and a small amount of lubricant.

No - I don’t believe that you can just bang in a triple pass without addressed other issues to ensure the system is balanced and efficient.
For triple pass to work as intended then you need higher pressures for the flow.
The temps johnny stated are pretty much spot on, the highest temp I recall from the track day was 105, so maybe the first question I should have asked is what are acceptable temps for a typical track day (if there is such a thing).
There is nothing blocking the rad, but a drain, flush out, and top up of a decent quality antifreeze wont hurt, it hasn’t been done in the 4 hrs I’ve had the car, is this something I should be doing periodically?
Good quality antifreeze in the correct proportion works wonders and I’d say is a prerequisite before looking further into cooling issues …
That said , I am a tosser !
