Now that I have the whole lot apart prior to fitting the ITG filter along the lines of Clives, I notice that the throttle bodies and butterflies are covered in oil residue!
Amazed just how much has built up… it certainly goes to show just how much is vented from the cam cover back into the engine… not good!
So, is it worth cleaning the whole lot up???
If so, how?
I was thinking about a standard carby cleaner and spraying this into each throttle body unit at a time with the engine at idle…
Wonder if this will play havoc with other parts of the engine?.. or am I being paranoid!
Or… shall I just leave it alone!!! It will certainly save a lot of smoke!
