different toe link when fitting R888

As the rears are worn I’m considering R888’s as these are more affordable than the yoko’s

but i read something about the original toe links to be weak especially when fitting a039

as these toelink kit costs about the same as two tyres, i don’t wanna fit it when it’s not needed

anyone having a guess

have a look on seloc, make a quick search in order to have a freaky taste

people upgrade for uprated toe link with sticky tires, R888 are obviously sticky tires.

but this is recommanded for track day use

i used to drive my 111s for one year on track with R888 and without sticky tires, i uprgraded when i checked the worn bush one one of them

the other benefit than security of uprated toe links is the handling of the car, more drivable in the corner, a kind of sweet S2 feeling

The uprated toe links will make zero difference to the handling. They are a strength and durability item only.

The only way they will change the handling is if they are shimmed differently for bumpsteer.

what does that mean ?

It means that changing from a standard set of toe links to an uprated set will have no effect on handling.

If you look at the picture above, the only way a uniball toe-link kit will affect the handing would be down to someone setting the height of the outer ball joint (under the caliper) differently to standard.
If this happens then the bumpsteer characteristics will be changed.

ok

this is a swap but if you change the geo settings it will affect the handling (noobie inside)

i upgraded the toe links on both of my cars and immediately made a geo, more or less agressive settings than before.

thanks

sry for the diverted question

by the way, i had a look on elise shop toe link, i am really impressed by the high quality of theses and the lightweight too

if i have to buy new one, i will go with theses

thnx guys

but when money is an issue (at least at the mo’ it is)

can i go for a set of r888 without upgrades toelinks

or would it be a bad idea to fit R888 without these toelinks

and forget the R888 and just go for the standard Yoko’s

by the way, the elise shop toe links kit looks great!
