Does anybody know what the difference is between a B4BP from a Elise S2 and the B4BPU from a S1 Exige?
I know that the drive ratio are the same buts what different?
One has a U at the end. The gearbox is the same whether it is fitted to a S1 Elise 111S/190, S1 Exige, S2 Elise in standard form, some Rover 25’s - I have never seen a casing or sticker with a U at the end.
The only place I have ever seen the Exige gearbox mentioned with a U after the B4BP bit, is on Seloc. So it must be true!! Or not.
i don’t know if you could spec one from new, but it was certainly available from the factory as I enquired about getting one fitted + retaining the (original 5th gear) as an overdrive 6th
My Exige has an B4BP fitted but with a fd ratio of 5.2,wich is extremely short.
I do not drive often on the highway but if i want to make longer trips a normal CR gearbox is the better option for me because on the highway i now turn 4700rpm @ 120kph.Ive heard here that a normal CR gearbox turns 3600rpm @ 120kph.
Now that ive been looking for a normal CR gearbox i want to know the difference between B4BPU and the B4BP,maybe there is no difference i don’t know.
The only thing i think is that the bearings are different or nothing is different.
I want to keep my gearbox complete so when ive changed it and i want the UCR gearbox back that i stil have it,thats why i am looking for a B4BPU gearbox.
