Just walloped a deer at about 60 in the Exige. Totally obliterated the front drivers side wing, headlight, front splitter, grill, etc, etc.
Not a good day.
Still I’ll be able to do a good deal on venison steaks if anyones interested (actually the blind 4 legged idiot did about 15 cartwheels down the road behind me after I hit it so probably just deer smoothie on the menu).

Ffs sorry to hear that , after you just got your car back ! Big motha truckers them deers .
Tell me about it, it was massive. Got to say that the Exige took it well, far better than I’d have thought. The beastie rolled all the way up the windscreen (after sticking there to look in at me for what felt like ages) then up over the roof and into orbit. At the point of impact I genuinely thought it was going to break thru the windscreen and squash me.
The image of it’s face glued to the windscreen with it’s shocked wide eyed grimace glaring at me will be staying with me for a bit too.
Saab have a crash test just for this, after one of their directors was killed by hitting an elk out in the forests of Sweeden, by one coming through the screen. Turns out that their standing height is just right to take the long spindly legs out on the bonnet/bumper, and then the inertia of the body then passes straight through the windscreen at speed. Not pleasant.
Test is of a suspended oil barrel covered in carpet for all you animal lovers!!

Well at the speed the deer hit the front and then slid up the clam onto the windscreen i’d say that an Exige is pretty good under these circumstances (albeit in a very rare situation thank god!). The cars low slung front end and steeply raked windscreen 100% helped in stopping the animals substantial mass smashing straight thru the windscreen (and no doubt killing me).
Another reason to love driving a mini Le Mans rep.
After reading about all the work you’ve had done it has come at a cruel time (for you, not the deer).
Cars can be repaired, I’m glad you are OK.
You said he was blind, which reminds me, what do you call a blind deer?..no idea
