they’re pretty cheap to service and fuel, so running costs are relatively low. Tyres suitable for a commute are relatively cheap, given the wheels are only 16&17".
saying that would i want to spend 40mins a day in my exige on the motorway? not particularly, i’d rather sit in something bigger and comfier. i only really take mine to work when the weather’s orite and that’s normally so i can go for a blat on the way home. It’s not the least practical car out there by any means but it’s inpractical enough that it’d piss me off as a daily.
I think they work best as part of an ‘n’ car strategy. You’re better off running a snotter commute car and saving the Exige for weekends and those commutes when you’re in te mood for taking the long way in.
The best combo I ran was Exige+LupoGTi. Family dictates now that it’s Exige+Bus but on the occasion (rare) I get in the Exige it’s always an event and feels like a rocket ship … That’s probably because it is a rocket ship
You should get yourself in one first, run it for the summer and then maybe decide to complement it with a shitbox come Autumn time?
