Custom side skirts.

I have seen over on SELOC that a chap has had some side skirts cut from a company called https://fractory.com/

There is a DXG over on LotusTalk - https://www.lotustalk.com/attachments/side-sill-zip.269161/ that you can submit and I think the results are fantastic.

Am I in the minority?

Yes I like them, I was initially concerned that they’d cover the jacking points and hence require removal each time the car is jacked up (I jack mine up a LOT) but from the pics it seems they just attach to the fibeglass of the sills.

I feel they need a different splitter at the front to match the aesthetic, something a little ‘sharper’ than the OEM one.

I like that and saw the post on SELOC.

Think it was £130 for the pair in aluminium, plus fixings, paint and edging.
My only reservations… drilling into the sill and I can’t paint for toffee :frowning:

I am ok at painting but the drilling bit worries me. Lots

Measure once, drill once, fill once, sand once, drill again once.

Easy

On a serious note I wouldn’t fancy drilling through a charge cooler hose :astonished:

YES !! When mine went on - I chose reverie as they seem to have the best reviews on the web and I wanted carbon fibre, Back on Track were very careful of hoses etc on fitting them… it was close in some places. They don’t affect the jacking points, but getting a lift underneath at Back on Track now requires an extra step as the arms don’t go underneath any more

There is a reason my old car never had any holes drilled in it by me, I could never have afforded the paintwork bills

Another alternative for some carbon side skirts here

I’ve been looking at these from sunset signs.
Side skirts are glued with single fitting front & rear.

I got the flexible air conditioning pipes in my sills to not drill through

I’ve got the front splitter from sunset signs and it’s fantastic in all fairness

You could use glue with the above carbon side skirts as well if needed as the do pick up a front and rear fixing point.
I personally measured around 5mm on a drill bit and put a bundle of tape round there as a bit of a blocker then used some riv nuts, you don’t need many as it’s not exactly structural

Slightly OT, has anyone fitted the Alias23 side skirts on an S2?
Yes I know they are £300 for a bit of plastic but they do look better than anything I could make/paint.
