LHD car under 20k miles too £39500. Yet the azure blue one on pistonheads on for months at £29k. I would have thought we would be in a high 30s market this summer on these cars.

I’m sure Barry Ely still has his up for sale at POA.
That blue one is a bit of a strange one from memory

Values do interest me, in as much that I “market watch” lots of cars I have an enthusiasm for, either as an owner or hopeful one, and to my mind S1’s have been mid to high 30’s for a long time now. I actually brought mine 12 months ago as I could see the days of £25k cars was passing and was worried after years of wanting one, but not buying due to other priorities, I was going to miss the boat.

I think cars with either the desirable options, or low miles will tickle comfortably into the 40’s this year. Ultimately they are wonderful cars, will only gain momentum as classics and available supply is so thin on the ground. I’ve noticed S2 have firmed and started to increase now as well.

My car is a keeper so to some degree it’s an irrelevance for me, but it does cheer me up after loosing as much money on cars over the years as I have that one is working for me at last and that I jumped when I did.

The 30k car on PHs is a funny one. Realistically it’s light on desirable options and isn’t low miles and definitely needs a mechanical & exterior refresh, so needs time and money spent, but come the summer it’ll likely look fair in terms of value.

The one that has surprised me are 340r’s the Exige is beginning to gap it in terms of value quite notably now. I like them but shared a magazine feature with one last summer and in the real it really was a far less desirable object aesthetically than I remembered, it just hasn’t aged well IMHO. That said I personally would still like one, but unless it was a bargain would likely pursue an Elise first.

Time to buy or sit tight in my opinion.

I think we’re safe as houses TBH. The purists and jouno’s love it, long term, all good.

Yeah I’m hoping that the residuals on my stable are all strong and I should not lose a penny in depreciation this year…it helps offset all the money I continually throw at them all

This,is all good news as my refurb will never be recoverable at the rate I am going.
However its not an investment as I tell STMBO its a project to get me out of the house (and the washing up etc)
The various parcels marked with Lotus or associated car part suppliers are hard to explain.
There is no substitute for the Exige “experiance” so it is all worth it …keep telling myself that.
Have fun chaps

I am of the same thinking. I bought mine last year too and a 996 Turbo. My Exige is a VHPD car, but what are desirable options. What refresh is expected? I have paint shield on my car and its very very light on stone chips. I had considered painting this but it is original and had considered this the best finish with a detail. I am booked for MOT now but im only 30 miles off 20k miles and dont want it going over lol. I did buy as a summer car knowing or hopefully not loosing any money so an increase is a bonus.

For depreciation free motoring simply don’t sell your car  :unamused:

Keep your S1 more or less standard and it will appreciate in years to come.

It’s a little bit sad for me that my S1 (mk3 Escort) RSTurbo is now worth more money than my Exige  and this time last year it was worth around £10k less

Options wise - I think the ones that people pursue are 190bhp, Motorsport seats and harnesses. Secondary but still nice to haves, original removeable steering wheel and carbon box.

Refresh wise, I d say suspension arms being powder coated that sort of thing. Clearly Jonny’s car will put us all to shame soon

I’ve stopped fussing about miles, mines 20k I did fuss, but now I’m in a place I’d rather just enjoy it when I want to (which is still marginal realistically annually) as I brought it to enjoy, not as a pension

Are they that high now?? I saw the time warp £60k car sell at auction that shocked everyone, but I thought still £15-30k on the whole (which is still MEGA growth mind)… You have a great stable !! :sunglasses:

That’s the thing about the Exige, it’s not happened yet. But it will…

Lol mines going to be an acquired taste, all the original parts are there in one way or another but it’ll have a few special bits and a slight modded interior…at some point!

Afraid so, my S1 Turbo has done 30k and I can sell it tomorrow for £30k, in the last 2wks , two have sold for £30k (48k) & £34k (17k)

The £60k car, even though it had only done 5k, had had new front wings, so the buyer had had his pants down but rumour has it that he was a lottery winner from Sevenoaks

Thanks, I dont have the seats and harnesses but yes that would be awesome. If I seen some for sale I would be all over them. I do have the quick release steering wheel and carbon box. Got offered £32k for it last year from a specialist dealer locally who heard I had one. I think you are right, its time to enjoy it the odd summers day and do a few things to it like a suspension refresh etc.

I was offered £40k for mine last year by a guy from Belgium. 12k miles on mine and it’s not for sale!!

Definitely get into the 40’s this year, especially with the strengthening Euro and looking at some of the prices on the continent.

I’ve been surprised the Barry Ely dealer car hasn’t sold, as it’s really low miles and I think is up at £39k and looks a nice car. I’ve assumed being listed POA has deterred people from asking.

If you mean the Aluminium one I think it’s sold?

Here, borrow mine. You might find they are Evora specific however

I need to get mine valued for insurance purposes. I’m not selling it but I’ve no idea what its worth? Yes someone will pipe up that a modified car is not worth as much as an as-god-intended car but I think mine is something very special. It would take mucho $$$ to get to something resembling a replacement if god-forbid something happened to it.

Bloody hell Tim, couldn’t find a smaller image my iPad can’t cope

S1 Exige Rocks :sunglasses:
