Quite possibly
Look at the picture above, it looked like the panel was mount to the undertray?!

The panel is mounted to the undertray
It’s all built in on the Cup 260 trays, along with some other structural bits that apparently you can’t see (or so I’m told).
The shear panel basically bolts onto the rear sub-frame underneath to act as a brace. It is mounted on additional brackets that have to be attached to the subframe.
It can come in two guises - The panel itself can eitherr be bolted in place as described above or fixed to the under tray and then through bolts hold it to the subframe brackets. With the latter method the under tray is under no extra load. Exactly same result which ever way it is done.
I have one fitted to the 2-11, cant say as i noticed a massive difference but then it was installed along with a load of other bits so cant comment as to its sole effect. Can only be good though as the stiffer the car is the better the dampers can work.
Tbh though its a royal pain in the arse… It takes about twice as long and is twice as fiddly to take the under tray on and off and for someone just doing occasional track days and having regular dealer services why add an extra hours labour on top of the service bill?

Question - Should you need to re-tweak your geo after fitting this improved structural undertray?
The reason I ask is that last night after a little drive out, the car felt more nervous at high speeds. Well nervous is probably not the right word…fidgety is! The steering wheel seemed to drag more as the road surface changed and it was a bit more twitchy. When I hit a bit of smooth tarmac it felt very solid.
I also felt that the steering felt a bit lighter. The best way to describe it is that when in a corner it didn’t feel as if the car was leaning onto the tyres as much and loaded them up. In other words the brunt of the corner force was being channeled through the chassis rather than it flexing and leaning on the wheels. It’s a strange sensation.
Just wondered if I should be taking it back to Steve Guglielmi for him to tweak my geo to match, or am I barking up the wrong tree?
No offence mate, but if you are pushing it hard enough to make these sort of judgements with the roads as they are just now then it won’t be long before you’re barking up a tree.
Suspect that any difference you are feeling could well be down to tyre pressures as they will be all over the place with the cold weather.

No offence taken as I’m not pushing it hard at all in these conditions. I say “these conditions” I mean bone dry but cold roads. Don’t worry, I’m taking it easy and never push the car to the limit on the road because I value my license too much!!
I’ll check my tyre pressures tonight and see if they’re right. I just wasn’t sure if the stiffer under-tray would require the car to be “re-geo’d” or not. Even in a straight line, it feels as if it’s dragging around! Having said that, it was quite windy last night
Sorted my issue - tyre pressures!
It appears that the soft AO48’s don’t seem to hold their pressures well when it’s so cold. I only put some air in them a couple of weeks ago (22psi at the front and 24psi at the rear).
When I checked, the front nearside was 17psi, the front offside 19psi, the rear nearside 19psi and the rear offside 21psi.
I’ve now pumped them up a little more than usual as they aren’t getting the normal amount of heat into them (24psi at the front and 26psi at the rear). The car feels MUCH better now!! There’s no pulling of the steering wheel, no tracking around in the grooves of the road. It’s spot on
Cup 260 Shear Panel now in stock here

SeriouslyLotus,
Lotus advised me that the Shear Panel does not fit 2010 model cars after they spent an afternoon trying to fit it. Instead they had to fit a full Cup 260 under-tray to my car, which I didn’t pay full price for because they didn’t realise the shear panel would not fit.
I notice that the description on your site mentions that it fits “All S2 (Toyota) Elise/Exige/2-Eleven” cars. It might be worth updating the site just to confirm that it will not fit 2010 Exiges

Thanks for the heads up - Will do.
Got the info from the Lotus sport catalogue?? Lefthand-Righthand springs to mind
Thanks again
Will this definitely not fit cars with a Moroso sump?
Definitely not
Could you use spacers?
