Cup 260 Ohlins on a S1?

Hi guys
I have a set of Ohlins from a Cup 260 & want to know if they will be OK for a S1 if I use different damper top mount brackets?
Anyone done that, been there?
Cheers

Yes, send them to Mick Gardiner Racing and get them to set them up for S1 fitment and save yourself the ball ache of ending up doing that anyway.

Thanks for the reply… so I can’t just bolt them on & hope for the best
How involved are the changes required? Valving? Damper length ? Spring change?

I have 36’s on my car, they went to Mick Gardener first. They bolted back onto the normal mounts just with different spacers, which they supplied. I suppose you could ask them to do anything really, mine were converted to 240R spec Lotus Motorsport with 350/450 springs. Having had them on my S2 I found the balance excellent for road and track. Actually on a lighter car I think there’ll be perfect.

Ok, I’ll contact them & see whats what

Jonny… love your S1 rebuild thread… lush!

They will need new ends eyes and iirc, new (shorter) stanchions for the rear dampers. I know one axle set needed shorter rods.

I had a set of S2 260 ohlins converted for my S1 Sport160 at Mick Gardner’s which are the same spec as exige s1.

Russ should have all the details he needs to convert them to S1, he did mine on my car in his w/shop to get the perfect fit. Tell him to look back through Gav’s file…

I reckon I’ll end up dropping the whole car with Russ when it’s finished Gav for a full check and geo.

Dropping the whole car off from Dubai will be a bit tricky … but sending off the dampers should be OK
Thanks guys

 I need to see some pictures of your car on a nice back drop please

Sure that’ll be fine, worked for me
