Girlfriend is getting delivery of her new diesel slk next week. I’ll have a play around with it and let you know what I think.

S1 elise Booth for the weekends mate, get yourself a tidy std car and keep it that way. Great fun which can be fully exploited on the roads. Driving them back to back i prefer my S1 in many ways more than the V6…

Mmmmm, I am minded towards a 9k S1 myself sometimes! So similar to the Exige but 20k cheaper!!! 
Motors and water just don’t seem to go together in the experience I have had with boats and has never been great!
I think a little s1 will be perfect for what you are looking for it can just sit there in the garage and not loose any money then if its not working quite right what the hell you have another car to get you places anyway

Not sure why people have a downer on boats… I grew up boating and the family missed it so we thought it a good idea to buy one.
We all work hard and it has given us somewhere nice to go of a weekend. Plus me and dad get to tinker with boaty stuff while the girls relax which is nice and it keeps the family close so its win win.
I can’t say its cheap but the costs are split so its not too bad.
Sometimes in life I guess things change and I guess I was just getting bored of the exige, I have had it six years and have owned lotus’s for 13 years. The roads are shocking these days compared to ten years or so ago and so I was just driving it less and less.
I could of left it sat in the garage and every time I looked at it I did not want to sell as it is a truly beautiful car but having £26k tied up in something I was not using made no sence to me when I can use that money for something else.
I have always said the best road Elise I ever owned was my S1 111s and I stand buy that, 150bhp and S2 bilstien suspension is perfect for the road.
So I have looked at the various different cars I could buy, various prices weighing up usability, finance and if it floats my boat or not.
No final decision made yet but it’s looking like an S1 as I just really quite hanker after one, however my eye has been turned by the slk, vantage and thanks to gav today the evora again…
