Croft under threat!

Nimby scum!

Arse!

W@nkers

I’ve also had the same reaction in the past…

Why buy a house near a circuit then complain about the noise

But I guess the increase of trackdays hasn’t helped. 10 years ago the track would have only had test and race days so they thought we can live with that, but now a circuit can be used 5 days a week at peak season.

That seems to be at play in this article.

Why buy a house near a circuit then complain about the noise

Exactly. I thought judges were more clever than most, but not this one obviously

Anyone done any more digging on the actual ruling and the reasons given by the judge?

I would have thought the 700k legal costs were the real killer. I wonder how much their house was actually worth to get part of the 150k payment for blight?

"Larry Carter, who handles public relations for Croft Circuit, said: If any restrictions are put on Croft it would have huge implications for the local sporting fraternity and the local economy.

[color:“blue”] It brings thousands of people to the area every year and is the only facility south of Knockhill, in Scotland, and north of Donnington. Motor sports fans from a huge catchment area go there." [/color]

Doesn’t help the cause if the bloke doesn’t know his geography or motorsport venues!

I really hope this is not the thin end of the wedge.
Knockhill has even introduced a maximum noise level this year, how strict they will enforce it has yet to be seen, but would have thought the only things effected by the noise up there would be the sheep.
Dave

Konckhill only did that because residents in Dunfermline 10 miles away were complaining ~I mean its in the middle of nowhere ~some people ith nothing better to do than complain about things like that should get a life

So far a I know it wasn’t being enforced although I’m sure that they will moniter the situation

It just beggers belief. The UK is going mad, there are too many ignorant do gooders…(magistrates are a good example). Or if not self important tossers like them, then there are the corrupt masses working in local office justifying there job by making up thoughtess [censored] rulings. This just really pisses me off!

I would suggest that a full reading of the judgement - web page - would help understand where this judgement has come from…and there are some quite interesting personal relationships between key memebers of both parties!

It’s another example of the dual standards, which seem to becoming more & more frequent. Even if the local residents brought it about as a “private case”, I doubt that the local authority had some involvement too (although I could be completely wrong). Unless there’s loads of revenue generated to pay the “govt”, they pretend to be “green etc” - the 3rd runway at Heathrow is a case a point!

I’m actually sat here with a big smile, mate Earlier went for a 1 hour drive in the Exige - first time this year, & first time in the dry since last October

Pesky, only surfed quickly this morning and read a couple of websites, but the link above realy does make it quite clear that this case was about settling some personal issues. Only of the claimants is divorced from one of the defendants, her parents are the other two parties named, and her father reckons that his ex-son-in-law owed him 250k.

Said claimant was also going to build a hotel on his property on the back of the development of the circuit.

Somewhere along the way things went bad…

I hadn’t seen your link, before I posted my earlier comment - must have been drafting/reviewing mine when you posted

Will have a read through the judgement, when I get chance - thanks for finding it

PS I still don’t have much/any respect for many of our elected politicians, & to a lesser extent cvil servants

Me too! I got in the car and took it for a short run on Friday - first time I had attempted to get in since my last operation in August. Loved it. Took it to a LDC Committee meeting today and got a speeding ticket on the way home - Bstrds. 41mph in a 30 zone, - 60 and three points
