Creaking in my right ear?

New RHD car, at speeds slow enough to think (no complaints though, great noise), I get a creaking coming from just over my right ear. More annoying than alarming.I’ve obviously can’t look while driving! And I don’t seem to be able to repeat the sound by rocking the car. The glass panel behind the seats seems fixed okay and doesn’t feel like its giving off the noise when I touch it while driving. Nor does it seem to be the harnesses. Its definately not the yip (upto to four now and each makes me smile!) if that’s what you’re thinking.Any ideas?

Sounds like it’s the roof and roll-over bar rubbing. Mine does it (on the left hand side!) and it’s incredibly annoying. When it’s occurring, if you push the roof up with your hand (or get a co-operative passenger to oblige) it’ll probably stop.Dunno how to fix it though.Ian

If you find a solution please tell, mine does it too, you’ll know the yip (more like a yi) as it comes from the rear of the car, mine does it when the NSR wheel crosses a speed bump very slowly, less than walking pace, therefore probably a bush or shocker, but as you know there is loads on the yi here and ather sites.

A beer mat forced between roof & roll bar works for me.If this is insufficient for your needs, simply bend the mat in two and presto! ps - do be warned that this adds 10 microgrammes to the weight. [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]

Recently had the same problem with a terrible squek. Isolated problem to rear boot lid agrovating roof. Fixed by simply placing two spacer wahers on the boot catch loop. Hope this helps.

Hope this helps. Was there any slight rubbing that would show where it was happening and prove it is this?B&C have had one unsuccessful go at fixing it so far. I believe they put some felt inbetween the roof and roll bar. Hasn’t helped much.Cheers, Ian [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]

I’ve got a creak in a similar place. I suspect it’s the black fibreglass trim panel along the side of the engine bay.
