first one. noise when just lifting thorttle of idle not a mechanicle noise just druming type noise ?. second one. when nice and hot gearbox is a bit noisy sort of rattle when no load on box fine when cold and no selection problems .got a feeling its normal noises but thought i would ask .cheers tim

gearbox noise is fine and owing to proximity to your head. Heard in all 3 Lotus i have owned… varying loudness.
I think the bongo drumming noise is the solonoid valve on the charcoal cannister pulsing away. If you get in the car on a warm day, start the engine and then gentley raise the revs you’ll hear it kick in and then stop when you drop back to idle.
