I know, i know to lazy to pick the phone up but does anyone know how much the 190bhp upgrade kit costs from lotus these days, think I remember reading on one of the threads that it was down to around 600 these days (this must be without the zorst)
Better off talking to Dave Andrews instead. 192 upgrade doesn’t mean you’ll get 192bhp (even though you are supposed to).
Recent rolling road of 4 S1 Exiges (192upgrade) showed 168bhp to 180bhp.
Cost is about right from a dealer, without the zorst. Mine was more because I went for catch tanks at the same time.
There are plenty of people switching to Honda at the momenet, so you maybe able to get a 2nd hand 190 ECU with the pulley and thermo, which is all that is actually needed.

In 2001 my upgrade cost 573.02 plus vat from a main dealer!
Had mine done in Feb 2001 at the factory:
190 with cat replacement pipe 317.07
sports exhaust 357.00
Breather kit 31.62
Breather catch tank 50.95
all plus labour and VAT, which came to a grand total of 1,458.93.
In 2001 my upgrade cost 573.02 plus vat from a main dealer!
Im talking bo!!ocks again…the original vehicle sales invoice shows 573.02 for the upgrade,
and other things like:
air con 1256.17,
sports seats and harnesses 846.81,
alcantara trim pack 251.06,
carbon air box 123.40,
metallic paint 591.49,
all plus vat,
but i dont see anY labour charges as presumably this is because these options were added during its manufacture on wich labour is not charged?
And so it goes on,
it all adds up!

I’ll stand correct but I thought all cars left the production line as 177bhp - this was the spec that was SVA’d. The upgrade to a 190 spec was done by the dealer.
When i siad mine was done at the factory, I should have said it was done at Ketteringham Hall, which at that time (its gone now and the work is done by the Motorsports team which is based at the factory) was Lotus’s in-house service and repair operation based at the old Lotus F1 facilities just up the road from the factory.
Youre could be right. Perhaps they added it onto this cars sales receipt at the point of sale and made the first owner pay for the upgrade upfront as it were!
Er, no. It was done at the first service…
Tim.

Tim, I stand corrected!
Although you gave Glenn the shrink wrapped standard exhaust, I cant find any paperwork relating to the sports exhaust that is fitted…was this a cost option, as its not noted on the first bill of sale?
If you look closely at the shrink wrapped one, you’ll see a mileage of approx 2750 written on by the factory.
The sports exhaust was fitted as a sweetener when they re-built the air con. So no invoice. You should have a letter from Heathcliffe Robershaw explaining all.
Sometimes a good whinge pays off

Thanks for complaining Tim lol…just found the letter and the info written on the exhaust, its all much clearer now, thanks for the info!
