Cost Guestimate For 300 BHP

I don’t want to start a thread war but was wondering what a ‘finger in the air’ cost would be to achieve 300bhp out of my Exige S 240PP. This would include fitting and mapping etc. The car would be used for road only so I’m not so worried about gearbox issues. I figure I’d need the following:

Injectors
Fuel Pump (Hanger111 does not seem to include this?)
W/A Charge Cooler
ECU Crack and Map (Hanger111 website seems to indicate that this is not a custom remap?)
Pulley
Exhaust (back box only or plus manifold, again Hangar111 only indicates a cat?)

Have I missed anything? Any ideas on cost?

Cheers,

Rob

To be honest, there are only 2 companies that say they can do 300hp, Essex Autosport (formally Sinclaires) who have done many and has proven figures and outputs, and then Hanger 111 that AFAIK have done a few upgrades, I have not ever seen one on a comparative dyno day so can’t comment on the validity of their claimed output etc. However after having done a lot of work to get to around 300hp I can’t see how they do it without the pump and smaller pulley.
At the end of the day ring both and get a price.

Suggest that you give them a call and get the detail, and have a discussion around what you do and don’t need. There are numerous options.

I reckon probably around 5.5k in parts + the labour to install. I think its fair to say you won’t have much change left from 7k

On top of what you’ve already mentioned, that would also assume a TRD, full 2bular exhaust system, triple pass rad and a bit of mapping time.

[color:#3333FF] Also depends on which dyno you wanna see 300 bhp at …
For Example a standard boost CN car can measure 290+ with a forge alone…on WGT’s hub dyno[/color]

that would cost around 2.5 k…

I think your injectors maybe ok for this level…

Cost rises steeply if you want more…

Thanks for the info gents, very helpful! Out of interest, has anybody driven in the potential CN 290 car V Hangar 111 V Sincs? Would be interesting to know what the seat of the pants difference is.

Also, anybody in the London area with a 300bhp S2? Would love to have a passenger ride to see the difference!

Dont forget about 3K for a new gearbox.

I’m not about to stir up a hornets nest and ask how long I can expect it to last!

To be fair, mine lasted a long time. Even when it goes the car is still driveable, and there has been no additional damage (apart from the obvious 3rd gear) to the box on mine. Depending on who you go to, you can have the Jubu gear set fitted for considerably less than that.

I am in Southend on Sea if that is any help?

But that was using a much higher loss figure than most use of 18% I think (might have been 15%) I use 10% for mine from 273 hub @ the hubs

So is the bloody VAT man

Put an Audi in and have 400bhp for not much extra dosh.

There are gonna be some stonking S2 Exige Audi cars out there soon!!!

300 bhp…why??

Just back from France and saw this thread. If you want a ride in one a bit over 300 horses then I’m in se London if that’s any good to you.

? Isnt that like asking, “big tits, why?”

well imho 300 ish is a very sensible and worthwhile aim…
Manufacturers have to warranty their cars and as such leave a margin of safe headroom…

Starting from a 240 and aiming for 300 is a 25% increase…Entirely sensible and will be cost effective and fun.

Enjoy your journey !
