Had a question i always thought that taking the badge off leaves two holes where the badge is set into the clam is this not so? Did you have to re-spray or what?
Decal comes on a strip of paper already spaced. I replaced the decal with some chrome metal letters (like on the back of an original Elan) and blow the weight gain

Nah, the rear badge is just stuck on (very firmly) with a black foam like material (letters preceded the badge, which was only used in 2004 i think). I used a hairdrier (supplied in the Elise boot ) to heat the badge & ‘sawed’ through the foam with some fine fishing line whilst applying the heat. It came away OK with a bit of patience.
The lettering comes pre-spaced on a strip, however you have to align it horizontally & vertically on the clam using the inner pair of tail lights as your guide. again I used fishing line taped through the centre of the lights IYSWIM, & measured to the centre of the T in Lotus from each inner light. Sounds easy but a steady hand & some patience is needed, as i doubt you’d get two goes at it with the ‘flush’ letters. Maybe the newer raised type letters will be easier
Did the same to mine. Didn’t like the lettering thought it looked cheap and nasty and the badge didn’t suit my storm titanium. I think without it looks much better seems to make the back look less fusy plus all my badges are black and silver and I couldn’t get a rear one.
