Corbeau LE Pro Seat

Trying to organise a group buy on these but I’ve now been informed there’s a problem with the subframe seat mounting

If anyone has fitted these without problems let me know

Will

wheres the group buy happening as looking at these myself- i asked the same question about fitting but was told they fit on std subframes- that not the case?

Apparently they don’t fit

Was chatting to Steve Williams today and he mentioned none of the sets he has had so far have been a bolt in fitment.

The problem seems to be that the rear mounts on the lower back of the seat don’t line up with the holes on the standard subframes.

How do the other corbeau seats fit, they did std fit ones for an S1 model elise did they not? did they use the std lotus subframes?

The only ones I’ve ever had were on different subframes

Corbeau did the standard seats for the Elise S135 back in 1998/1999 (which were on standard subframes) but I belive they have changed supplier for the seat body since then, hence the fitment problem

surely its not insurmountable, even if it involves motorsport subframes, ie non movable…

No doubt you can get around the problem. It’s just not the ‘bolt in’ replacement they advertise…

Steve Williams had to cut out the rear mounts on the seats he had from Corbeau and re-fibreglass back in, not something most people would want to do!

I know the guy quite well who makes the seats for Corbeau and he can either fibreglass in captive nuts on the sides or bottoms of seats depending on how you want to mount them. He made me some last year although I ended up selling them on.

He only does the shells and not the trimming by the way, but I can get any shells direct.

These were what I had.

How much, can we get them direct and trimmed elsewhere?

I can certainly get them direct but would have to find out about price. It depends whether you want fibreglass, carbon or kevlar.

God knows who could trim them and how much it would cost.

options would be good i suppose, a seat retrimmer would probably be able to do the trim?

any progress on these
