Coolant Leak Just Behind Nearside Front Tyre

Title should have read Offside not nearside!Discovered this the other day and checked header tank and found it down by about 1/4 of a pint. I think it might just be a jubilee clip on one of the radiator hoses but dont know the best way to open it up and have a look - anyone know the best way in?[This message has been edited by stevegreen (edited 14 April 2003).]

having removed the offside wheel liner and checked the security of the jubilee clips i know think that the slight leak may be coming from the nearside!Has anyone else experienced any coolant leaking problems…it appears to be a fairly well known issue with Elises and our plumbing is no different so I would be surprised if I was the only one???It is a very slight leak…in 600 miles including a trackday at Silverstone (what a great track…but in the words of Hammy hampster “that’s another story”!) I have lost only 1/8th of a litre. Will have to take other liner off and check…

Let us know how you get on Steve…

Yep… those clips come loose. Just give them a tighten. On the nearside you can get at it via the liner. On the offside, you can get at it via the front bonnet if you’re lucky [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]Also make sure your bleed screw on the nearside pipe is in nice and tight [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]

Cheers guys - a job for this weekend if the rains keeps off long enough…
