Having an issue with the clutch pedal where at the bottom of the stroke the clutch starts to drag, particularly after everything is warmed up.
If you lift the pedal about an inch then it full disengages. Clutch was new on the rebuild so less than 1000 miles, mainly running in.
Doesn’t seem that the travel is adjustable, and not sure why it would re-engage at the bottom of the travel anyway. Something over centering, or a problem with the cylinder?
Could fix it by putting a door stopper under the pedal, but would prefer to keep a bit more travel.
Decided to fit one of these to allow some adjustment.
Mine always used to do this when it got hot in traffic, I put it down to the clutch and aluminium flywheel, maybe it wasn’t that all along
I think you are right Ade. Suspect clutch is dragging on the flywheel and hence want to reduce the travel to avoid damage to either.
The other thing JDS fixed once on mine, was a lack of lubrication on the input shaft, meaning the clutch plate didn’t move and therefore created drag and would not disengage correctly.
No issues there, it definitely disengages but then drags at the bottom of the travel, so more likely catching flywheel.
